Perugu Pachadi or Kadhi is my personal favorite during summer. Good for health and great in taste too and most importantly, very quick and easy to prepare. It goes well with Rice or Quinoa.
Ingredients
- Chana dal
- Urad dal
- Toor dal
- Mustard seeds
- Cumin seeds

- Asafetida/Hing
- Red Chilly
- Green Chilly
- Curry Leaves
- Coriander Leaves
- 1 Onion
- 4-5 Tomatoes

- Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard and Cumin seeds followed by some hing, chana, toor and urad dal. Once the dal turns brown add red chilly, curry leaves followed by split Green chilly and finely chopped ginger. After the chilly is slightly cooked, add finely chopped onions. Add some salt to help the onions brown quickly.
- Add finely chopped tomatoes. Cook till the tomatoes turn soft. Finally add a quarter spoon of turmeric and cumin powder.
- Take a bowl of curd and add some water, salt and turmeric. Mix it well using a ladle or a beater. Add the above mixture to the curd. Add chopped coriander leaves for garnish and your dish is ready!
